Part-Time Program Coordinator

Job Description - Part-time professional non-exempt

Up to 20 hours a week - $20-$25 per hour (depending on experience)

1. Match tutors to students, maintain communication with tutors and students, and provide follow-up assistance as needed.
2. Assist in training and mentoring tutors in effective tutoring skills, including but not limited to:

  • Plan and coordinate Tutor Talks in cooperation with Tutor-Student Committee.

  • Plan and coordinate Tutor Training in cooperation with Tutor-Student Committee.

  • Assist with coordinating Conversation Classes and disseminate information.

3. Acquire familiarity with LCBH student curriculum and tutor training resources.

4. Actively participate in the recruitment of tutors and students.

5. Maintain administrative duties, including but not limited to:

  • Submit monthly written reports and attend monthly board meetings.

  • Assist with special events as needed.

  • Chair the Tutor-Student Committee and facilitate regular meetings.

  • Maintain accurate contact information for tutors and students, monthly volunteer hours,
    and goal sheets.

  • Facilitate social media posts as needed.

6. Network with other local organizations to maintain exposure for the Literacy Council.

7. Assist with grants and fundraising tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Share goal sheet results and communicate regularly with Fund Development Committee.

  • Track funding sources, opportunities and schedules and assist with grant writing as needed. 

  • Help develop a local donor base and network with local organizations to maintain exposure for the Literacy Council.

8. Assist with other duties as requested by the board and as time permits.
